daveinspain
OK, the Robert Plant and Alison Krauss CD has been out for a long time now. I have tried to listen to that CD so many times and it still sounds lame... The only song I like is the Fortune Teller and that's because it sounds like Zeppelin a bit. The critics loved this CD and everyone seemed to agree it was great. I don't get it.... Just sayin'.....

badbluesplayer
I don't get it either. I'm a big Alison Krauss fan, and it seems like a step backward for her career. She was so great - so talented. And then this stuff?
Hector Arcadius
Well, Dave-in-Valencia, I have not heard it either, but I had exactly the same feelings when I bought ''No Quarter'', that small re-union Page & Plant had, covering some of their Zep songs. I still believe that it is among the worst CDs in my collection and that I literally threw money off the window. I enjoy ''gallows' pole'' a little and that's it. I can't believe that ridiculous cover of Kashmir for example.... REALLY awful, according to my tastes. All the critics all over the planet raved about it. So, we can official turn this thread to a critic-hatred thread. No? Ok, it's your thread...

The music samples just couldn't convince me enough!
Duende
I suppose it isn't for everyone. My wife and I became hooked after seeing them both on the Jules Holland show, watching them live in London shortly after wards, The show was amazing and the album has been played many a time on the old cd player. There seems a really good chemistry between them musically and personally, between them both!! Matt

saturn
I have it also, but have only listened to it once or twice. Hector Arcadius I saw the tour they did that year and IMO, they sounded much better than they did on that MTV show.

Ok, it's your thread... :- [/quote'] interesting. i like No Quarter, especially that version of Kashmir (Plant's straining voice aside) and that acoustic version of Nobody's Fault But Mine went from being an annoying, phaser soaked irritation to being a cool groove song. I saw them on the following tour and they sounded fantastic. different strokes for different folks.
FirstMeasure
You have to see them live. I caught them at the Greek Theater in LA.
Rocky4
Taylor Swift is running away with awards, Jethro Tull won the first heavy metal Grammy, Milli Vanilli won a Grammy, Karen Carpenter beat John Bonham for rock drummer in a '70s Playboy music poll, Cream magazine called The Clash the only band that mattered.
