Gibson CS
I have heard that the LP Robots are hard to come by... There is one on the wall above the cash register at LA Music in Mississauga. I was tempted...very tempted.

elvendio
That's interesting I was just at Long and Mcquade at Bloor and Ossington in Toronto and they had a Robot hanging on the wall. I said to the sales guy "I thought those were all sold" out and he replied "Oh we had some in the back we FORGOT about." I wonder how many more are sitting in stores still. I should have ask the serial No. a number 1 or 2 would be worth a bundle.
Gibson CS
elvendio... Have you been to LA Music in Mississauga? Tim A told me about it so I checked it out. It leaves L&M in the dust. Huge selection and the staff know what they are talking about. I wont go back to L&M again. They are near Lakeshore and Hurontario. Its worth a gander believe me! Tim Plains
Good luck with that, blue...it's not for sale. They're keeping it for display. At least they were, maybe now with the second run of Robots they've decided to sell it. I tried buying it the first time I saw it. elvendio, it's definetely worth a drive. There have two stores that are a block apart...old location and new location. You walk into the first store and you think "My God, I'm in guitar heaven!" ...then you walk into the second store and you think "My God, I'm in guitar heaven!" Tim Plains
Oh, I know. That's why they bought the new location, to move from the old. I think they have too much stock to fit in one store. I haven't been there in over a month, maybe they've cleared a lot, I don't know. If any of you forum-ites live in the GTA and haven't been to LA Music, it's worth going...really. Nothing against L&M...I'm probably buying my next LP from them...but LA's definitely guitar heaven. Hopefully, L&M will order two or three R8s for me to chose from...no way I'm buying one off the floor. L&M is like GC, I suppose. A new guitar may only be new to you. It may have been sold (or rented) numerous times before ending up in your hands. It's not L&M's fault, it's their 30 day return policy. Whereas, LA is 7 days exchange only. You're less likely to get a new, but not new guitar from them.

[/quote'] Actaully for gigging guitarists I can see how these guitars can offer an advantage where changing between tunings relatively quickly in a setting that's not always conducive for spot-on tuning by ear. I think anyone who is bashing it doesn't play in alternative settings and probably doesn't play live.

LPDEN
I am going to spend some time playing one next chance I get. As I mentioned, the closest I've been to one in person was seeing the Guitar mgr at my local dealer doing a demo...
