Cruznolfart
It's amazing the lengths to which one must go in order to help the M&P store stay alive. I called them Saturday to see if they could order my bass...a $1900.00 purchase. The kid that answered said he couldn't find out on Saturday and was off on Monday so he'd call me Tuesday. I reminded him I could order it any day of the week from the big boxes but that I'd rather do my business locally. He thought that was nice and said he'd call me Tuesday. I went in today, spoke to the owner and ordered the damn thing. What the hell do they tell retail employees nowdays? Let the customer...the one who knows wtf he wants and has the cash for it...let 'em wait to even order it? Jeez! Anyway, it'll be here on or about 15 December! Makes one wonder if he was just that stupid and it went over his head or that he really didn't give a sh*t. Nice looking bass. Bet it sounds as good as it looks. I saw the two that you are giving as gifts. Very nice thing to do. And now you are going to trump those basses and give them something to look forward to. I get it. Keep the flame alive kinda thing. I do the same with computers with my kids. Funny thing, they just wait for the hand me downs... Almost sounds like you went into my GC here in Atlanta. Ugggh... moving to the next topic, hate to think about that place.

Cruznolfart
LOL! Casino, if your GC is like ours, you're almost better off staying in front of your monitor. And it's a hundred mile round-trip, to boot! The good news is the guy I spoke to today at our local M&P was very efficient and had the thing ordered in 5 minutes. No muss, no fuss...no waiting for his day off. The ones we test drove at GC were enough to make my mind up on the SR5000. The SR series are so musical in tone, I couldn't say no. Wenge![/quote'] I gotta find out the correct way of pronouncing "wenge" first. I mean...is it a hard "G"..."wen-geh" or a soft, single-syllable like "wenj". I can't go around saying it wrong, that's not cool.

Shnate McDuanus
No Well...why not? Nobody wants to go around saying "/'w??ge?/" all day! I say the alternative pronunciation is superior. [/quote'] Thanks, TG, I'm lovin' life right now. I picked up bass about a year ago, just thinkin' it was a natural progression. Turns out it's a lot of fun and easier on the left hand than guitar. Arthritis has started taking its toll on my dexterity and the bigger strings and spacing is a lot more comfortable for me, especially if I'm jammin' for more than an hour or so. I started on a Schecter Stiletto Custom 4 but after hearing the Ibanez with the Bartinelli electronics and pups, I was hooked on their voice. The necks are incredible, too.
