Nailgun
I have a day 165 2007 melody maker duel pickup. I called gibson teck support and asked about the single pu it has. All they would tell me is " It's an over wound single,, no other info. I found that to be less than helpful, I took matters into my own hands and found as follows: neck 4.57k bridge 4.79k This seems to be less than I would have thought. I think I will put on some humbuckers. I do love this guitar, but it would have been nice to have a option. Thanks.

3th3r
Those guitars are just begging for P90s!!! Like this Curtis Novak P90 in a MM casing? Or how about a Humbucker in a MM casing? The Duncan Custom Shop can make it.

Nailgun
Thanks for your input. I was looking at the duncan 59 or little screamer but the review I read are not that good. The over all point with mini humbuckers is that size seems to matter. I am going to remove the entire pick guard set and put in a new pick guard with all new pots and that way I can change back to stock if it sounds bad. I just can't say how nice this MM is when played though my Epiphone blues custom.
g3msp4
My gf had BL Minis put on her LP Double-cut, which looks a lot like the new MMs. They sound great! I love Melody Makers, have two oldies myself, I would say the tone on my 68 is unbeatable, like a tele on steroids. post a pic soon.
Thundergod
hey could you post some pics of your guitar? i like melody makers very much and am looking forward to buy one as soon as i can... I think i would leave the single coils in... or maybe upgrade the bridge pickup to one of those single coil size humbuckers, and a coil tap.
