Snaglpuss
I have a '97 EC30 Blues King Electro and a '92 EAS Standard, both of these guitars don't have any back braces. Does anyone know why not? Are the backs molded plywood? Otherwise what wood give them their rounded shape? I saw a new J185EC at Guitar Center. This looks very similar to my EC30 but it has back braces. Anyone? Thanks
Guest
These guitars utilized a pressed back made of laminated woods. I was told by the Bozeman staff that the backs for the were actually pressed in the Nashville plant, back when ES-335s were made there. Then the backs were shipped to Bozeman for use on the EC-30 model. I don't believe that is still the case, as the successor to the EC-30, the J-185EC, is made with solid maple backs.
