milod
Yup... kinda a revival. I'd say any of the classic jazz guitar era pickers and any past or present classical players. m

lespauljoe1
There are so many that deserve much more credit. Many have already been named and rightfully so. A blues guy that was ahead of his time imo was Albert King. He was a monster during his time. +1 on Brad Whitford. Joe Perry got most of the ink, but Brad is excellant. Another guy that is incredible is Ernie Isley. I just saw him on the Experience Hendrix tour and he was incredible. A couple contemporary guys I like a lot are Mark Tremonti and John Petrucci. Alvin Lee and his ES-335. Neal Schon. He was a young prodigy and played in Santana's band at an early age. Eric Clapton also wanted him to be a part of Dereck & the Dominos, but that didn't work out obviously. There are many, many more.

MojoRedFoot
Lenny Breau FINALLY we agree on something. "Boy Wonder" is f-ing redi-Q-lus. The first time I listened to that album, I stopped playing guitar for a few days cuz it was so good that I knew I would never be able to play like him.
