slashadler
Hey, I am stuck in a rut. I am an intermediate guitar player and I want to learn some sweet songs. Any suggestions? I have been learning some AC/DC and Rush but I want to learn some good songs.
rocketman
AC/DC and Rush aren't good enough for you?
slashadler
I do like those bands but I want more variety or suggestions of songs. I keep getting into these phases where I think I'm sh!t at guitar and I don't learn any new songs.
rocketman
I was only kidding around. How about some SRV? I'd suggest Empty Arms. It's not too difficult but it's got some classic SRV licks...
Tim Plains
What groups do you listen to? Try learning them.
Jantha
I can see why you're getting bored. LOL... just kidding? There's always Zeppelin... Hendrix too. Rocketman has a point with SRV as well.
Shnate McDuanus
I say Zeppelin, Hendrix and SRV are great places to go from here. Also, I find that Hank Williams' songs are very fun to play--rather simple, structurally, but so very flexible. Great for developing your arrangement chops. ChanMan
Try the Pat Travers album rendition of "Born Under a Bad Sign"... or "Snortin' Whiskey". Both are pretty rockin' tunes and fun to play. Or... maybe... you could pick up pretty much the entire Black Sabbath "Paranoid" album... or perhaps look into some Judas Priest, like "Metal Gods" or "Victim of Changes". How 'bout that?
