Loopers

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at getting a looper for Xmas. I was kind of looking for a little input. Here are the two I was looking at. Boss RC-20XL Loop Station or the DigiTech JamMan Looper Pedal

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!! thanks

I bought the Hardwire DL-8 (it's in the van, I think that's the model#) a few weeks ago. I really haven't messed with it much, but it's quiet, and is pretty lush for a delay. Haven't got loopie with it yet.

I just create loops in my recording software. I have Cakewalk software

and start a loop then make it as long as I want by doubling or tripling

or more in the software. The boss is limited in time (lenght) due to it's size.

The Boss your looking at has 16 seconds I believe.

That would be rather short... 16 minutes says the advertisement for the RC-20XL and the RC-2.

But other than that I don`t know much about it...

It is 16 minutes on the Boss models.

I have been looking at the RC-2 since it has drum loops and has an Aux Input. It is also the more compact size.

Get the digitech jamman.

Lots of memory (removable card), 1/4" or XLR input - allows you to mic your cab and go into the looper, or just go directly in with the 1/4", control over input levels and output level, can listen on headphones, 99 memory locations, etc.

I use it to record riffs real quick when I'm travelling or at home and just too lazy to start up my computer.

This is a great machine and is built like a tank. If you can get it for $199 go for it.
