gibsoncountryboy08
Hey yall, I just got my Les Paul Studio about a week ago, and I LOVE IT. I barely put it down. One problem, I think the strings on it are too light, seein as how they seem to go out of tune easily. The E A & D are pretty good, it 's the G B and e that seem to go out of tune too quick. Should I buy some heavier gauge strings to put on it, or what? Thanks
flyingarmadillo
String guage has nothing to do with it going out of tune if it's properly strung. Since it's a new guitar, try lubing the nut slots. Graphite (pencil "lead") will work or you can buy one of the commercial nut lubricants.
Sancho
You did remember to stretch your strings?
ibis
Have a look at this description of how to lock your strings. It really works, and along with pencil lead, should sort out your problems. If, by chance, it doesn't then I'd suggest having the nut looked at as it may need just a tweak.
