vexorgtr
When DarkFire came out it was a "Limited Edition" First run series...... but they never stated the limit like they did with the Tiger...... Is this a sales tactic and they are going to make 25,000 DarkFires?
gplayer100
The Dark Fire program was originally to produce 4000 units for world wide sales. This was successively cut back and Gibson has only produced approximately 1500 units. There will be no further units produced. The majority of the units produced were done in November and thus the last few pieces are still being shipped. I would guess there will be limited availability in stores for a few weeks, but they will be very hard to find. The number of units to be produce was published and was discussed in this forum in the early part of this year. The number continued to drop due to the time to improve the original design and the long lead time on high tech parts. Only about 100 units of the original design shipped, and I would guess these will become quite valuable. Hope this helps.
vexorgtr
Indeed... Thank you... I'm actually surprised this guitar didn't catch on a little more, but I'm thinking the tech factor makes it a hard one to "Crank Out" in mass.
raine
The number of my Darf Fire is 1882 indicating that Gibson has made at least 1882 for this guitar model In this link one has so far recorded a higher number. http://forums.gibson.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=12846
MCK
Serial # is very mis-leading. Read up on this topic at http://www.futureguitarnow.com/forum/index.php?topic=305.
