Legend J-45 vs. J-45 True Vintage

Can someone spell out the differences in these two models? What would I expect to hear tonally different? As a follow-up the finish on the Legend series appears to be satin. Is it lacquer or varnish?

I own a J45 Legend. I can tell you that the J45 True Vintage is a fine guitar, but not in the same league as the J45 Legend. The other day I went down to my local Gibson dealer who wanted to compare the True Vintage he had in stock with my Legend. On its own the True Vintage J45 sounded awesome……. That is, until he started to play the Legend…… It was obvious half way through the first strum of the Legend that it was head and shoulders above the True Vintage (As it should be foir the price). Actually, it was not even close. Some of the differences I know of:

ALL hide glue construction throughout, not just the top.

Same woods on both, but the Legend gets the very best grade of wood species

MUCH bigger neck on the Legend

Slightly deeper body

Red line case

I think the Legend J45 is a relative bargain for what it is. Plus it's a new guitar and there will be no issues common to some vintage instruments. An all hand built guitar using the very best materials. I have NEVER regretted my purchase of a J45 Legend. In fact, because of my positive experience with the J45 Legend I purchased a L00 Legend. Equally impressed!

Be good

Play better…….
