Help with Serial Number Read

My father has recently aquired a Gibson small body acoustic at an estate sale and I need some help interpreting the SN. I've not seen the guitar first hand yet but had him give me the stamped number on the inside bottom of the heel block. Number reads: 3095 32 with no other markings anywhere on the instrument. He doesn't live in the local area so it will be a few weeks before I can get there to check it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My first inclination based on very limited information is a late 40s LG1 or LG2. Numbers like these were also used on Gibsons in the 30 but would have a prefex of suffix letter code. Go to provider.net and look at the Gibson serial number sections and you understand what I mean.

Identify the logo and that will help. A 30s guitar would have Gibson in a Script, like some of the new Gibson reissue models. This could be most typically a white silkscreen.

A 46 guitar could have a Gibson script but will be a decal very similar to what is used today or it could have the modern block logo seen on most new Gibson acoustics . Again go to provider.net he has pictures of logos.

Have him the measure the lower and upper bouts of the top across the top from side to side.

Or just get a picture!

Thanks for the replies. I know I wasn't giving much to go on. I had looked at several sites before finding this forum but I missed the part about the headstock logo so that is very helpful. In reference to the last two digits being a FON, did I read that correctly as being an internal "batch" number for the factory? Batch numbers being in groups of 40 etc.? I'm heading home for the holidays next week so I'm picking it up then and will have more info and photos to post. He also stumbled across a Rickenbacker lap steel with the case and amp in really good condition so that will be coming back with me as well. Get this..........he paid $100 for all 3! I know....makes you sick huh! Hopefully he will be in good Christmas spirits and let me just cover his investment.... Thanks again for the replies.
