Is an Advance Jumbo and a J45 the same

I know there are several differences, but I probably only know of a couple. The Standard AJ is a forward shift X bracing that is different from the J45. The standard AJ is a 25.5" scale but there are short scale versions also. The standard AJ is Sitka/Rosewood where the Standard J45 is Sitka/Mahoganny, The AJ has open back tuners I don't think the J45 does. There are surely differences in how thick the body is and the overall measurements will differ slightly. The neck width at 1.725" on most is similar. Both are slope shoulder dreads though and both are wonderful guitars. I have an AJ and would love to add a J45 someday but that day is likely a long way off unfortunatly. I fall in love with them all the time though when I am out and about! [cool] (Don't tell my other 3 acoustics!)

Moosegy-- what those tech details boil down to for tone. Your j45 tends to be on the woody/jangley side of the tracks. thumpy bass, sweet chimey top.

Your AJ (banjo killer) has more slap to the bass and over all volume. Doesnt rumble like a martin dread but more overtones that a hog slope. Clear bell top, on the metallic end. Did I mention loud?
