MARSHALL, MARSHALL, MARSHALL!!! Part 2

Once again I ask you for your input.

I am looking to bring my Marshall set up alive.

Options:

Marshall Vintage Modern 100w

Marshall JCM800 100w 2203

Marshall JCM900 100w 4100

I heard somewhere that 900>800, 800's price is more due to the popularity it has gained but 900 is as good if not a liiiiiiiiiiiittle better.

What do you think? Do you have these?

I have both a JMC800 and VM 2266 . They are both 50 watts. They are so

close you would have to flip a coin. The one thing nice about the VM it

has 2 PRE-AMP controls. This lets you make a single coil pickup sing

because you can adjust more thickness to the sound. Just turn up the

first pre-amp control. I run these through 4 different speaker equipped

2x12 cabs. all with different speaker so I can get all kinds of different

sounds. If you need a lot of gain go with the VM.

Im with ya' my friend! mmmm!

I agree Deep I have a JTM 50 (1986) model I bought new. Here comes

the but, You have to run it so loud to get a good sound thats how I ended

up with JCM800 2204 it had a mastervolume. I do most of my lead through

my Orange TT.

CW...Try a Hotplate or an Attenuator. Thats what I use on my Orange to give me tube saturation at

a lower volume...best money I have ever spent.

It's the 900 100 watt for me. I love the built in pedal. Diode Clipping all the way with

a TS-9 in front of it and its got to have EL-34's with a E Q in the loop run

through nothing but Vintage 30's.

It's the 80's Sound and a Hot rodded 800. What more can anyone want
