Wiring help Fishman Powerbridge

Recommended Posts

Finally ordered a soldering gun, a 25W Welder gun.

Now that my dad has a proper soldering gun, I want to install the Fishman Powerbridge.

That link is to the instructions, I am going to wire it with the direct wiring.

How is the volume controlled, if there is no volume pot?

I got one more question later.

No volume pot = no volume attenuation electronically. Your picking dynamics and amp volume will be all you have if you wire it that way.

Ah. So it may be better to wire it with passive volume wiring?

Would it better to have a master tone or a pushpull?

I say master tone...

How do I wire for this though?

No sweat, mon, just trying to get an idea what you're working with. If it was my project I'd be going with the second illustration so I could have selection of either mag or piezo as well as volume control. I'm still not sure what you mean by master tone vs. push-pull, though.

Well, I know that you have to sacrifice a tone pot for the preamp like flight's pic showed, so if you used the bridge tone, if you could wire the neck tone as a master tone control or use the pushpull, as in regular position as a tone pot and pulled out as a volume for the piezo, but now that flght mentioned the preamp I know what to do...sorta.

Thundergod will give some good info on this when he's around... He fitted a LR Baggs to his LP recently (or was talking about it) so im sure when he's about he will fill you in... I remember reading somewhere that there is a different jack with these bridges...

I know bryvincent had installed a Fishman to his LP and said it is easier to do the installation for a Fishman because it is one wire compared to 6 or something like that.

But how does your controls work flight?

the two volume pots and then what one master tone?
