kingtf Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Yeah, I know believe me! I don't know what the heck I was thinking. I do remember not liking the guitar that much cause I couldn't keep it in tune. Dah, now I know how to fix that or I could have taken it to someone. Live and learn... won't happen again.
surfpup Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Surfpup Have you seen the film Control; about the life of Ian Curtis? If not; it is really recommended for any Joy Division fan! Matt Indeed I have. 'Twas good.
FirstMeasure Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I have a pretty big Middle Finger. If someone wants to "make fun" of my musical preferences I usually make them feel shallow and narrow, not to mention petty. I play music, I don't sport it.
cookieman15061 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I'm a big fan of the band Chicago. -Mostly their 60's and 70's stuff. I love their horn section. It's definitely not a rock secret that I'm embarrassed of' date=' but people are always surprised when I tell them about it. [/quote'] Twiz, no need to be embarrassed brother early Chicago is great. Three great lead singers and all great musicians with the late great Terry Kath on guitar. Oh yeah and that awesome horn section. The 80's incarnation was crap but thats another story.
cookieman15061 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 My love for Karen Carpenters voice gave me chills on every song.
SG fan 420 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I really really really like Derrick and the Domino's - "Lay down Sally" It's just so cool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EivR78mrRFE If listening to Eric Clapton is wrong I don't wanna be right. Mine would have to be Evanescence, or Halestorm, I got a thing for chick lead singers.
pippy Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I really really really like Derek and the Domino's - "Lay down Sally" It's just so coolhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EivR78mrRFE Sorry to be a pedant but 'Lay Down Sally' came from Clapton's 1977 "Slowhand" solo album. But, yes, I agree it's great fun and very laid back to play along with.
albertjohn Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Quickly and off the top of my head with absolutely no worked-out thoughts on the matter... Burt Baccharach. The Carpenters. Frank Sinatra. George Brassens. Abba. Peter' date=' Paul and Mary. The Mamas and the Papas. Charles Trenet. The Proclaimers (OMG!!!!). Glen Miller. The list is near endless so I'll choose to stop there![/quote'] Where do I sign up? First album = Crazy Horses by The Osmonds
recsec Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I really like "Blood, Sweat and Tears 3". I particularly like their version of "Sympathy for the Devil" and "40,000 Headmen". Also just about anything by Dave Mason.
Stew Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 My girlfriend has been teaching me how to play guitar over last couple months and I have bought 3 Gibs in that time. It's already an addiction I think... they are so beautiful. I have never played an instrument or had interest until now. We started a band and going into recording studio this month to record full album and I only know a couple chords... it's more fuuny than a secret. My girlfriend is highly talented and all our songs kick ***!
nikko18 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I don't really like Chinese democracy. I thought I would get some funny reactions from it. Guess not :[

SweetMarie Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Might as well get this out there now. I'm not proud of this, but after 40-odd years I still know all the words to "The Rain, The Park & Other Things" by the Cowsills and will actually sing along if it happens to come up on Rhapsody. I'm trying to get help!
Cruznolfart Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 im still removing parts of a strat out of my %&^%$£%^&&*.... Tragic. These unenlightened rabble-rousers have no idea the problems they cause. Even the more "mature" ones.
