NeoConMan
My 2001 Les Paul Classic Plus. Plus is for the nicer top. The REAL reason I bought this one after selling two other Les Pauls? The 60 Slim Taper neck. I saw this one at a guitar show at the Astrodome in Houston, spotted it all the way across the hall. It was displayed prominently above all the others, the top made me dizzy. Pics don't do it justice. I was standing there like a doofus with drool running out of my mouth, and the guy says "I'll get it down for you." I declined, not intending to buy a guitar that day. He said "Yeah, this is the Classic. Slim neck, killer top....." and handed it to me. I took it and was hooked immediately. I hated the fat necks on my other Les Pauls, and sold them both. The ceramic pickups suck, so I swapped them for BurstBucker Pro's and never looked back.
NeoConMan
3 of the 6 Classics up here already have had the high output ceramic pickups replaced. As this thread grows' date=' I'll be interested to see the percentage. Probably much higher than Standards or a Studios.[/quote'] Anybody counting? My ceramics went into a Epi LP with a bolt-on neck, and actually sounded pretty good.... Son of a coworker, finally got pickups, pots and switches in the guitar that worked and it got stolen. $200 worth of parts in a $50 guitar.....
