Byrds are beautiful guitars. They play and sound sooooo nice.

I've only played one (a vintage one) and it was pretty amazing. It sounded awesome into a Fender twin reverb.

What's the story on those guitars? I just noticed that your PRS has witchhat knobs. I've never seen knobs like that on a PRS. Did you put them on?

pippy' date=' what finish is the one on the left? i realy like it...[drool']

That looks like a heritage cherry burst 60ri to me but I could be wrong.

Almost right' date=' Dub.

The colour's a bit of an odd one.

The guitar is, as you say, a '60 RI. It was made by the Gibson 'Historic Division' (which later evolved into the Custom Shop) in 1995. In those days, in an effort to get as close as possible to the look of a vintage '58-'60 burst Gibson tried out a few different colours. The instruments built between 1994 and 1996 are frequently referred to as 'Gingerbursts'.

The colour contrast changes very much depending on the light source; in daylight the red section is quite light orange-red but in tungsten (house-bulb) light - i.e. at home in the evening - the whole finish mellows out to a gently darkening amber.

In between times it looks like this.

The Byrd is a '68 --- and is in excellent condition --- and I put the witch hat knobs on the PRS. I thought the black knobs with their gold-coloured lettering contrasted well with the Santana yellow colour of the guitar.

Hahahaha....thanks, man. Yeah. I use them as guinea pig repelant. Yes, this thing is amazing. Crisp, clear, and the sustain is sooooooo long.
