mrktwn
I think the're cool. They just need a little tlc. Think of a Bigsby like a muscle. The more you use it, the easier it becomes to use.
cvansickle
Not sure I want to drill holes in my Gibson LP Studio. YOU DON'T HAVE TO! Check out: ZZ Guitarworks I just bought one at the Dallas Guitar Show last weekend. I haven't installed it yet, but I got to play the one in this picture. I have a LP Worn 'Hog just like it, and that's the guitar that's going to get the Bigsby. No drilling, no permanent changes to the guitar. It plays and sounds great. And Fred, the man who sells them from ZZ Guitarworks is a really cool guy to deal with. $249 USD - price includes the Bigsby, the roller saddle bridge and the mounting plate. If I could have brought another one home it would have been that one... But I went with the one that really grabbed me the most.
Thundergod
thanks for the compliment thundergod. i absolutly love your lester in your signature. mind if i ask what kind of stop tail piece that is? Thanks man, its a Gibson TP-6 fine tuning tailpiece... very good for tuning acurately your guitar.. some say it improves sustain because of the added mass (weights at least 50% more than the normal tailpiece) but i couldnt say for sure... cvansickle
Well, I did the install of the ZZ Guitarworks system this past weekend. So far, I really like the results. The guitar seems livelier and there is definitely a sustain increase. The Bigsby action feels smooth, and the guitar stays in tune really well with some fairly aggressive bar use. I can get all the vibrato bar sounds I need for Heart's "Barracuda" and the intro dive for Sabbath's "Iron Man," just to give a couple of examples. I know it's early, but I think this mod is a keeper. Best of all too, if I decide it's not staying, I can restore the guitar to original specs on the next string change! LPDEN
should i get a bigsby for my lp The way I look at it, you should get an LP for your Bigsby.... In that I mean, than you have one with and one without...

One of my friends has 2 studios, a artic white one with gold hardware and a bisgby, and another identical guitar without it. Instant wicked guitar rig for shows..... LPDEN
I'm just going to stay here and talk about Bigsby covered Gobsons, because all of the other threads are being killed off. Ok. I have the line on a Real Custom Gibson LP. It's a Custom, but with Silver not Gold hardware and has the Bigsby installed. It's awesome looking and reminds me alot of the Les Paul used by Neal Young. I plugged into both a Fender Deluxe and a Marshall tube combo. Sounded absoluetely awesome, and I loved that Bigsby action....

I love reading about modifications that actually not just work, but really do enhance your guitar. Sounds like you scored a win with that one! HBTN
LifeSoundGuy's is goregous - what is that? And an OT question I've been wondering about: Whats the difference in wrapping the strings over the stopbar rather than just going through it? Hopefully thats not a dumb question heh... Difference in tonality/sustain/ect..., or just personal prefernce?
