Strider Posted February 12, 2010 Share Posted February 12, 2010 Hey guys, it's been awhile since I've been here but I've been busy with work & other issues. How's everyone doing? My new Gibby arrived, an 09 GLP Traditional light burst, & I am ecstatic with the quality of this baby! :)/ I got it from Sweetwater & I must say, with the exception of some tiny tweaking & tuning, it sang right out of the box! Sustain is incredible! The neck is a bit thicker than my Studio but plays like butter! OK, enough chatting & here's the porn! I'll try to get some more pics this weekend when I have some more time! Strider Posted February 12, 2010 Author Share Posted February 12, 2010 Yew, I just received the class 5 a couple days ago & haven't fully put it through it's paces yet, but first impression so far is that it's a tone monster! Classic rock crunch when dimed, a slight lack of clean headroom but that doesn't bother me. No rattles so far, (knock on wood), but I'm loving it! I just ordered a couple of TAD preamp tubes to replace the stock ones & I'm hoping they give it a little more punch. I'll post more thoughts & info after I've given it a good throttle! Rocketman, I don't usually buy instruments through the web as I would prefer to try out what I'm buying first but I couldn't resist the faded look of this burst & the flame! They had 4 in stock at the time & this one was the best looking (IMO) of them all. I did try a bunch of trads & standards before buying & loved the feel of the trads over the new standards. I hoped that this one would play, sound & feel just like some others I had played & I'll be damned if this baby doesn't play & sound better than the rest! Hicacolis, what plays great to me may not feel right to you! I absolutely love her but I would suggest you go out & play as many as you can & go with what feels & sound good to you. I saw your top and remember seing that exact guitar at Sweetwater. That's the second best thing about Sweetwater, next to thier customer service, they show you the exact guitar, serial numer and all.
