Kzin
Am thinking of bying a new amp. I have I fender hot rod deville (60w, 4*10), but its way to loud for my needs. So now I´m considering an orange tiny terror (15w). I havent been able to try it myself, but for what i can tell from youtube the tone seems great. I´ll be using it for rehearsal and smaller club gigs. So will 15w be enough? Do I need anything bigger than the 1*12 cab? I´ll be using it with my les paul, sg and strat and suhr s1. Other thoughts? EVOL!
A guy that shares our rehearsal space has the same Fender amp. He had the same volume issue so he had a local tech put a power soak in it. Now his Fender hits that sweet spot at lower volumes. Not sure if this is an option for you. In regards to the Tiny Terror, 15watts should be enough. I would go with a 2x12 cab and use something like a crate get the cab off of the floor. You'll hear it better. Low wattage amps are great since they hit their sweet spots at lower volumes, but if you like *loud* cleans like me, you will miss the headroom higher wattage amps provide. And your tone will be fine as long as you leave the Strat at home (yeah, it's personal preference).
cwness
The TT is a great amp. I run mine through some 2x12's and it works geat for jamming with friends. The guy I bought mine from used it as backup while he was on tour. CW
Yew
nothing wrong with a tiny terror, maybe take a lok at the marshall haze, and the vox ac15 (that kinda area) for other options too, but you cant go wrong with a TT
GIANTRobOT420
The TT is a little beast. Its a great amp for the money. I see them go on Ebay for $300-400 all the time
Kzin
Thanks for your feedback. I´m also considering the dual terror. It has 7, 15 and 30 w modes if im correct. It costs a bit more, but I´m thinking that I might as well get if I would need the extra power sometime. However, if higher power comes at the expense of not being able to crank it I´d rather go with the tt. I dont like hogh volumes and we always try to keep it low when we rehearse. Do anyone know if you get the same sounds from the dt as from the tt at lower volumes (and lower w modes), or if there´s a difference between them? Yew
hmm... about being ably to crank it would depend if its an attenuator, or changes somthing in the power stage (like thrning valves on/off or somthing) TBH though, if you need more volume, then you just mike it up...... also look at the Jet City 20H, Thats a soldano amp and sounds as good as the TT
cwness
If you have the cash go for the dual it will give you more head room for clean sound. CW
