Thundergod
Hi, anyone here is using a trem with their pauls? You know... like the les trem, stetsbar, kahler, bigsby, or even that good for nothing bowen handle? I´d like to see pics and read reviews/opinions, specially about the stetsbar as the kahler and bigsby i have used/owned and the les trem and bowen handle i know arernt any good. Tim Plains
A guy at work is selling his and let me borrow it for a few weeks. It's pretty cool for the first 20 minutes, but I'm not one for effects. If I was actually in a band and played shows, I might have a different answer. I've got my Les Paul (hopefully, this won't get deleted now that I said that), a Dunlop wah - sometimes, and my amp. That's all I need to make me happy.
Thundergod
you are just a simple guy just like me... i dont like that much gizmos to play around... i get all confused by them! best way to go is your LES PAUL into your favorite stomp and your amp. LPDEN
I'm not, but I do understand a bigsby is not everyone's cup of tea...
Thundergod
i own a guitar with a bigsby... i rarely use it but thats because it has 2 single coils... (de armond 2K pickups)... but i like the way a bigsby works when you know how to use it) the stetsbar is supposed to fit a LES PAUL with no mods... and is suposed to give you a good range of action... but it is very expensive (just my opinion)
ibis
+1 on the price of the Stetsbar. Too dear for me, especially considering importing it into UK. The only thing that would make me take a risk is the fact that Snowy White uses one.
cvansickle
Just installed a Bigsby on one of mine. I like it a lot!
Silverbursted
IMHO, I think trems on LP's look and feel chunky and clunky. Personally speaking, when I feel the need for some serious "Dive Bombing" I pull out my Kramer with a proper trem.
saturn
A long time ago I had an Ibanez with one of those Floyd Rose or Khaler trems with the locking nuts and fine tuners. It was a pain it the butt. I would never want one of those on my LP. However, I do like the Black Beauty Custom with a Bigsby. That's one of the guitars on my wish list. Maybe some day! cudamax2343
The floyds are the way to go, and a lot of my favorite axes got-em.You really can beat a good centered one for dive-bombing and stay-in in tune. They do change the tone, but with emg's there-great. Everyones got-em but gibson but that's O.K. cause they don't go with the paul. Anyone that has cut-into a paul and installed one, in my opinion is a fool. The Kalhers are good and the 80's everything came with-em even gibson and now the Kalher 2200 series are on the Shred x. I think they can go on a T.OM./Stop bar set up with no mods and are about 400 in and finish I got-a Get One Of These, Soon or I'll wait for one with a maple cap top. LPDEN
Just installed a Bigsby on one of mine. I like it a lot! There is just something about a bigsy on LP that does it for me... It works fantastic, stays in tune and looks great. What else is there to say?

cudamax2343
Wow, Wow, Wow that's sooooooooo sweet. Did you add that?. I have an old 70's copy I was going to put one on. I hear they don't stay in tune. What you think. Also does It add tone and sustain? ya-know I figured with all that extra steel and the wrap-a-round all the way down to the tail with the strings going thru It would transfer a lot more than a standard tail piece
