Shnate McDuanus
Lots of them. *Rory Gallagher *Jerry Garcia *Alex Lifeson Steve Cropper Hubert Sumlin *Duane Allman Tony Iommi *Kerry Livgren *John Cipollina Dickie Betts Elmore James *Jimmy Page Robert Nighthawk "Dangerous" Dan Toler Albert King Vince Gill Steve Howe *Jimi Hendrix I know all of the stuff about limiting one's tastes, having discerning tastes, having a discriminating ear, blah blah and so on, and I don't buy it. I listen to a ton of music, and I appreciate a lot of different guitarists. I still have discerning tastes, but I can think of a lot of great guitarists who I really love listening to. Asterisks denote my most favorite favorites :)
rockman82
Angus Young, Jack White, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry and B.B. King. Just a few to name off. My two biggest influences are Angus Young and Jack White. I also like to hear different guitar players from genres that i don't really like, because you know anyone who has the patience to play an instrument and dedicate their time to it, really gets to me. And i respect that.
Silenced Fred
Jack White Eric Clapton Jeff Beck Josh Homme Jimmy Page Jimi Hendrix David Gilmour Rory Gallagher Joe Bonamassa Billy Corgan Too many others, but those are some of the main ones who I would say influence me
Izzy
This is where I'd ask, favorite guitarist that isn't world renowned and known for being the baddest. I mean we all love page and hendrix and beck and stevie ray and so on.... As controversy there will be people saying Vai (oh but he's souless) and Buckethead (no, NOOOO). I think Jonny Winter doesn't get mentioned as often as he should and I'll add Ani DiFranco for good measure, because there is more to guitar gods than men with plugged axes ripping. SG fan 420
Well if you want to go the nontraditional route: Derrick Trucks, Luther Perkins, Vince Gill (Saw him with Clapton in Nashville, shredded a vintage burst L.P. like nobodies buisness) Warren Haynes, Roy Clark, etc[cool]

freak show
Alex Lifeson' date=' Jimmy Page, [b']Steve Howe[/b] I'm surprised Howe doesn't have more fans here. One of the best guitarists in Rock Music! Robert Fripp is also fantastic. Clapton is a joke compared to these guys...
ShredAstaire
As controversy there will be people saying Vai (oh but he's souless) and Buckethead (no' date=' NOOOO). [/quote'] Hey...not sure if I understood this as you intended so I thought I would check. Do you think people just put Vai and Buckethead to be controversial? And not because they are two of their favorite guitarists?
