L5Larry
First of all, yes I am an American Idol fan. OK, now that I have that confession out of the way...... Last night on the "results" show previous Idol winner David Cook was a guest performer. Guitar playing Idol fans will remember he was a lefty. So he's playing a Reverse Firebird, left handed. As a former '64 Firebird owner, I always thought that a reverse 'bird was a perfect guitar to flip around and play upside down, but this is the first time I've actually seen a lefty playing one. And in typical Gibson PR/Artist Relations fashion, this was no off-the-rack 'bird. The controls were on the bottom of the guitar. The pickguard was in the standard place, which was now on the top of the guitar, just the control were relocated. Since I've always loved the look of Reverse Firebirds (I just never liked the way they sounded or played), I though this was a really cool "lefty" model. iddude
L5, have you ever played a non-reverse bird? I never played a reverse, but I heard they had a serious neck dive. I have a non-reverse and it seems to balance really well. Just thought I'd ask.
