This summer my dad's going to take me to the Nashville factory tour. Anyway I've been have trouble finding information on it.

If anyone has gone on it is there like a place where they have different les pauls that you're allowed to played (or buy)?

Thanks.

(This might be the wrong place for it but unsure as it pertains to les pauls)

In Memphis, it's attached to the factory. In Nashville, it's in a mall. I was really disappointed with both. More Epiphones & Dusk Tigers than anything. You'll find a better selection of Gibsons at any Guitar Center. If you plan on buying one, I think you should check out the forum dealers at the Les Paul Forum and My Les Paul forum. You'll get a way better price.

The last time I was at Opry Mills in Nashville (Showcase) they were having a huge sale and had the theater opened up and the stage was full of amps, and there were a ton of Blue Gibson SG's marked down.

I like the mandolins there too. Nashville is a cool town, the Country Music Hall Of Fame has tons of Gibsons that were owned by "Stars"..... And don't miss Gruhns on Broadway.

Have a good trip and enjoy.

Apparently, you guys didn't see the big red X through the price tag. lol. They sell you the same price as GC and MF. It's as good a deal as any.

There are WAY more Gibsons than Epihpones last time I went. You can't take a tour in the Gibson Factory because of the sawdust I think.

You're right, they have gibson.com prices with a red X and then the sale price is what's listed on GC.com. Not exactly as good a deal as any, though...

The one guitar I wish I had bought there is my Epiphone Casino with Bigsby, they had a couple of perfect examples. I ended buying one online and it is a sloppy made guitar even though it is a "Custom Shop" (chukle)

The stock at the Gibson Showcase varies. Sometimes it sucks, sometimes it's Gibson heaven.

I've actually been in there when there were 2... count them...2.... mandolins on the wall. No dobros... in fact, very few guitars of any kind. I've also been in when you couldn't get to all the different guitars and mandolins if you spent three hours in there.

I agree with Murph... if you're in Nashville, it's worth a trip to both the Gibson Showcase and Gruhn's.

Maybe not as any, but still as good as Sweetwater, MF, GC, and big chain music dealers. [biggrin]
