Watch your email for an example I found years and years later.

 

I heard these guys only on records; I think Koerner's still at it a bit besides running a restaurant in the Twin Cities last I heard. But in the mid 60s they were kinda iconic for a "Midwest" folkie thing. Blues harp, 7-string (doubled "G" octaved up) and a 12-string. Lots of Leadbelly-type stuff, etc. Darned near broke wooden floors stomping out time on the 2 records I had.

 

They didn't do the Bobbie Zimmerman "go to New York" thing and I don't know if maybe they weren't too ornery to make that work even if they wanted to.

 

Even that last seemed to make them sound better. <grin> Not that I ever was ornery myself. Oh, heavens no.
