Les Paul Custom Class 5 Iguanaburst

Wanted to share a few pictures of my first Les Paul. Some people find the color disturbing but I really like it and I think it is quite unique since I've never seen one before buying this one.

I'm still getting used to the neck, it plays quite different than my previous non-Gibson guitars.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the welcome. It is signed by the members of Green Day. I purchased it at a charity auction. I've had to create a unique way to cover the autographs so I can actually play the guitar without wearing them off. I've cut a piece of vinyl to cover them when I play and immediately remove it after playing and during storage because I've read that vinyl can eat into the finish over time.

Madmountie, congratulations on your new Les Paul. The color is different, but I think it's cool. :) Hey, you got Green

Day to sign (autograph) it. It may be worth something someday. Don't lose those signatures.

Thanks Paul. Yeah, I'm trying to not rub the signatures off when I play, that's where the vinyl comes in. When I first received it I was trying to not touch them with my arm when I played and that was quite hard to do due to their location right where your arm rests.

Madmountie, I would imagine so, especially during the warmer weather as one tends to sweat more. Anyhow,

I forgot to tell you about my latest acquisition. I'm now the proud owner of a Gibson Custom Shop CS-336.

Click on the link below to get a good look at what mine looks like.

Beautiful guitar Paul! I really like the sound from the semi-hollow bodied guitars. Great pictures too' date=' did you take those? Very professional looking.[/quote']

Madmountie, no I didn't take those pictures. Peter one of my Epiphone Forum friends sent that link to me as users

were complaining[-( that I didn't have any pictures of my guitar. I don't own a digital camera (I'm not much of a

camera buff, so I figure why bother). Peter came to my rescue (He's from Germany) with this link from one of the

German distributors. This is exactly what my guitar looks like. It is a beauty in both looks and sound. An excellent

replacement (even better because the Gibson guitars are made better today) for the Gibson Les Paul Custom and

Gibson ES-335 I once had, but had to give up. This new guitar is like a God-send to me. I got a nice bonus from my

job this year and after Uncle Sam and New York State took out their share for taxes and IBM for my 401K, I had just

enough money to buy this guitar. I bought it at Alto Music in Middletown, NY for $2,270.61 tax included. It came with

it's own Gibson Custom Shop guitar case and Certificate of Authenticity, just like it shows in the link that Peter sent me.

Hey there,

Beautiful...I have always loved the Iguana Burst finish; however, I have never run across a "custom" model with it. Yours appears to be a "standard" model, with this custom finish. (Custom models, traditionally, have binding top and bottom, zero fret marker, custom inlay on head stock and gold hardware, along with hotter pickups than R57's, BB's or the like) But, yours still ROCKS~!

Here is another iguana....only an "axcess" model with a Floyd Rose tremolo which my friend has at his store, Rainbow Guitars, here in Tucson.

All the best

STeve
