Hello all!

I have been searching for a hollow or semi-hollow guitar and am stuck between the Epiphone Nick Valensi Riviera with p-94's and the Casino. Now, I have been able to find and play the Casinos and I really like what i hear, but the intrigue of the p-94's in the similar body (because for the most part, i can see no difference between them aside from the pups and the frequensator tail piece) is a big draw for me towards the Riviera. I have tried researching the Riv. but have found a lot of conflicting specs on the web and was just looking for some outside input on this matter before making my final decision.

Thanks!

Riviera's...are SEMI-hollowbody guitars, with a center "sustain" block, inside...like the Sheraton,

or Gibson ES-335-355 series. Casino's are FULLY-hollowbody, like the Gibson ES-330. They

have very different tone qualities, not just in pickup differences, but because of the differences

in the Semi vs Hollow bodies. Depending on what kind of music you play one may be better

suited, than the other. Casino's have a tendency to feedback, rather easily, at high volumes,

being fully hollow. Riviera's have a lot more control, over that...but, they can still feedback, when

coaxed, to do so. BOTH, generally, have a warmer tone, than solid body guitars, with similar pick-

ups. The Riviera has better upper fret access, as well. That may, or may not, be a factor for you?
