Artie Owl
Churchill was a decent soldier, better as a soldier than he was a politican. His charisma was definately what kept him in office during the wars. He also wanted to go into Russia after Germany surrendered. I'm not discounting his achievements, but if it weren't for the war he wouldn't be remembered the way he is today. Politicans today cowtow to everyone because news travels so fast, and everyone has to be walking on egg shells to not offend the slighest of special interest groups. I do agree that most politicans are out for them and their own, but honestly, when HASN'T that been the case?
Thin_Lizzy
Nobody voted FOR anybody. That was the election that put Richard Nixon in office. Good point. I think we're in the same situation now. And as there's no strong candidate, we're most likely going to end up with a hung parliment, where no party has control. How lame is that.
