Jantha Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 i was never to much of a nivana fan tbh' date=' respect what they did though[/quote'] Oh same here. I didn't care much for them at the time, but looking back, I recognize and appreciate the impact they had. I just think this one is quite good.
Dom_JEM Posted April 18, 2010 Author Posted April 18, 2010 im liking those performances
FirstMeasure Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 im liking those performances Blues Traveler was a big part of my Listening Library in the 90's.
Dom_JEM Posted April 19, 2010 Author Posted April 19, 2010 never really sat down and listened to them before.....i like em
NeoConMan Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I was slow to warm up to the stuff by Barenaked Ladies, but they did some good stuff. Talented guys, with a good sense of showmanship. Nirvana, eh, whatever.... I was never a Blues Traveler/Spin Doctors fan. But I've seen what their bouncy/poppy songs do to a crowd - especially the ladies wanting to dance. I can understand a bar band doing them. Just not my cup of tea - with the noted exception of this one bluesy number; Most of Popper's harmonica drives me crazy - and makes the dogs howl. He keeps it a little more restrained in this song.
MojoRedFoot Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 One of my favs....nobody could pull off this song as well as Layne. Not even James Hetfield (granted he did a fine job). Heroin is bad people. Tragic end to a great singer.

Rocky4 Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 The early 90s one one of my favorite eras for music. Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Screaming Trees, The Posies, The Melvinz, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Jane's Addiction, Urge Overkill, etc

jaxson50 Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I Like It! and her-anything she does,
NeoConMan Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Urge Overkill Saw those guys in a little dive near downtown Houston. Great show - they kicked serious ***, along with a sense of humor. Sister Havana is a great tune. They changed up one of their songs from that album, it actually sounded much better than the studio version. Gotta dig it out and see which one.
Dom_JEM Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 someone mentioned Soundgarden....they rule!!
NeoConMan Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 With Jesus on guitar! Seriously, I remember seeing Kim Thayil in some pics in the early nineties. Looked just like the pop culture renderings of Jesus in so many paintings.
