Favorite Amps?

I voted Mesa. I can pretty much be in heaven with an SG standard and any Mesa. I've been using a Stiletto half stack for a little over a year, and I'm never getting rid of that amp. Even been thinking about getting a Stiletto Combo for the smaller gigs [biggrin]

I voted other since I am into my Silvertone and if I had to give it up I'd probably get another pt. to pt. wired beauty.

Not a Mesa or Marshall fan for no other reason that I am knob averse. If the amp has a master volume I don't want it.

Hmmm can't really choose 1. I don't have enough experience with them to definitively say. I have the 1st gen Marshall Micro Stack, a Fender SCXD, Fender Blues Jr.

I don't gig, so I don't really have a chance to open the Jr up. Would love to do it soon.

I pretty much have most of the amps listed in the poll. I play them depending on my mood.

So, I recommend getting at least one of everything.

But, if I were only to have one amp, then my favorite is my old 1982 Fender Super Champ. Yes, folks the Super Champ had been around since the 80s. Its not the same amp as the Super Champ XD that is currently available. The older one is like hot rodded Princeton or a mini mesa boogie MKII

Does anyone here have any experience of the VHT Special 6 combo? I currently use a Marshall MG15FX, but I don’t particularly like it. I play a Gibson Les Paul Classic (with the ceramic pick ups) which sounds quite dirty. I only play at home so I was thinking the little 6 watt VHT might be quite nice, although it has no reverb built in.

I had never heard of VHT until I recently so one being used at a gig. I’m looking for a bluesy rock sound (Paul Kossoff, Gary Moore)

Regards,

Ian.
