Hummingbird Pro guitars

I've been looking around..

I may venture and try to trade my CL-30 Deluxe for a Hummingbird Pro.. You Hbird Pro owners, what do you think of them? Comparison in sound to the standard Hummingbirds?

I just bought a HB Pro yesterday. I compared it to the Songwriter Deluxe and the Hummingbird and here's what I came up with -

The Songwriter had the edge on low ends but the HB Pro has that rumble that makes you smile that you get from J-45's - i think it has to do with mahogany being a slightly less dense wood. I've noticed that on open voiced chords, it really just shakes me and I love that. The Songwriter has a better studio sound, more focused highs and lows, but I'd take (and did take) the HB Pro over it for shear joy to play live and unplugged. Plugged in it sounds fantastic too.

Compared to the regular hummingbird, I personally put this on top. For some reason, every hummingbird i've played just sounds slightly flat. Whether it be too much glue or whatever, they just don't ring quite the way I want them to. Looking at it, it looks slightly Lennon-esque with a songwriter pickguard (which i personally think looks way better; the hummingbird pickup is a little too much for me).

Basically, I love this guitar and will keep me happy for many years. I've heard complaints of the action being too high from the factory, but I've had no such problem. The GC manager helped me pick it out and gave me 300 bucks off which basically cemented the deal. And he through in a humidipak and a strap. With the standard gibson case, I really could not have asked for more. I love it.

If the guitar you pick up sounds anywhere near as good as the one I have does, i recommend you buy it. This one's a keeper.

Not at the moment, but I am recording some songs with it within the next day. Can you wait 24 hours? Honestly man, I'm 18 and saved up a lotta lunch money. It was more than worth it. I was sitting in the guitar center acoustic room looking for a new guitar and comparing everything to the HB Pro and Songwriter Deluxe. Eventually I gave up and bought the HB Pro. So worth it. I'm broke but happy.

And I've had a Songbird Deluxe before. I sold it because I needed the cash and it was used when I got it. It had a little ware and tare. But I thought that sounded good - I was wrong. It did sound good, but this, the HB Pro, is my guitar.
