kevoT Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Today i went to my guitar store in hong kong and rumor has it that there was a les paul florentine, so.... i went and checked and there it was! but, something else caught my eye, TWO REVERSE FLYING V'S, i thought they weren't selling these anymore!? these were surprisingly cheaper than i thought, which was about 8,000 hkd, 1,025USD. Earlier in the year when i went to pick my sg up, i was looking around with my dad and at the back i saw a reverse explorer! i'll post picks of the v's later; the explorer is too far away for my liking.
rockman82 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I hate reverse explorers because gibson will go through time and labor to make a reverse explorer, but won't make a left handed one. They probably sound just as good as a regular explorer, maybe.
kevoT Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 HAHA you have a point there I agree with you rockman (even though i'm not left handed), gibson should make more options with their left handed guitars :/
Space Pup Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I never cared for either one myself. If it's a chain store, they may have gotten them from another shop or there distributer may have had them and let them go cheap. I know GC likes to ship guitars to other stores when they don't sell. I have seen the V's at other shops at reduced prices too. My guess is that when Gibson came out with them as a "Limited Edition" they sold quickly because they were so unusual, but by the time they put it into regular production every one that wanted one had one so the interest in them was gone. Next time you go there check the serial number and see how old it is.
kevoT Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 yup! will do, i'll probably go check next week heck i might be bothered to try it.
