When it comes to playing the blues, it doesn't get much better than Warren Haynes. His command of the guitar and masterful style have rightfully earned him the status as one of the greatest living guitar players today, and his busy schedule only confirms his appointed label as the hardest working guitarist in the rock music world.

Whether he's playing dueling leads with Derek Trucks in the Allman Brothers Band, or leading his own band Gov't Mule to new heights, Haynes is always doing exactly what he loves to do—creating, playing, and sharing the music he makes with countless adoring fans around the world.

Today's lesson was videotaped when Gibson Custom first introduced the Warren Haynes Inspired By Les Paul Standard last year, and features Haynes talking about the art of bending notes—an integral part of the loose, fluid style he's honed through his years with the Allman Brothers Band and Gov't Mule. Haynes knows how to get the most out of every note, and in today's lesson he shows you how to wrench maximum emotion from every lick. He touches on bending to pitch, pre-bending to the note, under-bending for tension, and Albert King-style over-bending.

Noone gets more power, drama, and effect out of string bending than Haynes.
