JThunderz Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Hey I just lowered the action a wee-bit on my LP and now the initonation is slightly skewered (which is to be expected). I haven't taken the time to set it because I haven't done it in years and don't really remember the proper way to do it, and I don't wanna give myself a crash-course down memory lane. I remember the basics, but the question I have is which way do I turn the screw on the tune-o-matic? Say I set my low E to correct pitch, and the 12th fret is slightly flat? Clockwise or counter? That's all I really need to know so I don't end up spending hours dicking around with this ****ing thing.. Thanks.
Blackie Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Counter...................maybe. I mean if the tuner says it is going out more go the other way, and vice versa.
Tim Plains Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Moving the saddle towards the neck makes it sharper.
JThunderz Posted April 23, 2010 Author Posted April 23, 2010 That makes sense...Don't know why that didn't occur to me, I know better...Thanks !!!
