fingers galore Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I am getting rid of my 100 watt JCM 800. I was thinking about checking out the Egnater Rebel 30. I have a few questions about it. Any/all info will be helpful. Is it made in USA? Does it come with a footswitch? Are 30 watts loud enough for gigs and practice? I won't be micing it through the PA. I want to keep my Marshall 4x12 cab. Will the Egnater 30 be powerful enough it drive a 4x12? Ohms match? I'm going to take my LP to play one before I decide. I am also going to check out Bogner, Line 6, Orange and Vox, but the Egnater Rebel 30 caught my attention. I play mainly classic rock. Thanks. ______________________________________________________________________________________
pauline Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Yes (AFAIK) Yes Yes / Yes, too loud, you can turn it down to 1 watt Yes / 5 or less watt amps can drive a 4x12" cab Peter
fingers galore Posted April 23, 2010 Author Posted April 23, 2010 Vielen dank für die schnelle Antwort. Just to be clear I am refering to the Egnater Rebel 30 head not the combo. Does the head also come with a footswitch? _______________________________________________________________________

daveinspain Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Everything you ever wanted to know about the Egnator Rebel 30
FirstMeasure Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I love Egnater's stuff, specially the Tourmaster and the Renegade. However I've never been a big fan of Marshall, so you might want to test drive one first. I think Egnater has it's own voice, but if I had to I'd say they sounded more like a Mesa Boogie.
SHO Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Is it made in USA? Yes (AFAIK) I'm pretty sure the Rebel models are made elsewhere to cut costs. Probably in China.
Murph Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 A Mesa Lone Star Special is built like a tank in the U.S.A. 30 watts is all you'll ever need. I've never played an Egnater, and I've never seen one working in a bar.
