loreizza Posted April 25, 2010 Author Posted April 25, 2010 100% fake. REALLY?! can u explain me why?
BigKahune Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Sadly, fake. Headstock giveaway - front is off. Headstock back shows 1 piece - should be 3 piece (wings glued on) The opinions are mounting up. Sorry dude. Still, a nice looking guitar. Does it play and sound well?
jameslucascalvert Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Yikes, that's some rough inlay work there on the headstock. Any way this guitar can be taken back somewhere? A store, or the guy you bought it off of? I'd let Gibson know where you got it from, and probably even notify the local fuzz. You probably won't get your money back, but you may get the guy busted.
loreizza Posted April 25, 2010 Author Posted April 25, 2010 Sadly' date=' fake. Headstock giveaway - front is off. Headstock back shows 1 piece - should be 3 piece (wings glued on) The opinions are mounting up. Sorry dude. Still, a nice looking guitar. Does it play and sound well? [/quote'] it sounds in a very beautiful way, all tho body is, imo, a real gibson...i think maybe the neck isn't original, because maybe it crushed!!!
Laaz Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Top TRC screw on Les Paul's should never be above center of tuning pegs. Binding does not cover the ends of the fretts. Logo is way off. Also as stated above, headstock is one piece, not three. Also look at the control cavity with extra routes where the pots are. Incorrect ground wire... Also look at the inlays in the neck. They are not even close to being cut correctly. That is not a Gibson guitar.
cwness Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 BK is right there should be wings ( a piece of wood glued to each side of the headstock visible on the back side). Yours has a one piece. Here is a link to the Serial # id on the Gibson site. http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Support/SerialNumberSearch/ CW
Tim Plains Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 loreizza, the pickup selector switch looks like it's too close to the edge of the body. Maybe it's just my eyes playing tricks on me. I don't even think your body is from a real Gibson. Did you pay Gibson prices?
KL Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 it sounds in a very beautiful way' date=' all tho body is, imo, a real gibson...i think maybe the neck isn't original, because maybe it crushed!!![/quote'] Sorry, but I don't think any part of that guitar has ever seen the inside of the Gibson factory.
AXE® Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 This is exactly why counterfeiters get away with their trash' date=' sorry you paid 250 for that cardboard guitar. Your comment IMO its 100% Gibson; is so wrong bring the cardboard guitar back to the chinese dealer/website. This website is for real Gibson Guitars not a guitar owner who has been told its fake but in his mind its a real Gibson. The only real thing about that guitar is its real TRASH[/quote'] Well. That was helpful? And tactful.
cwness Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Sorry but I am so tired of the entire counterfeiting thing' date=' from those who go to all means to say hey my 300.00 dollar guitar is so much better than your to those who rip off those by selling the 300 dollar guitars. Tactful or not its what everyone here who owns real products from Gibson, Fender, Ibanez guitars are thinking. I just said it.[/quote'] That's not what I was thinking. My thoughts were you were being an *** to someone who just found out he had a fake. Real nice. CW
Sefrez Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Wow that sucks to hear. Definitely not Gibson quality. Where did you get it? You need to try and bust the guy that sold it. IMO, he didn't even do the job correct in trying to make a fake. Good luck, Sam
Laaz Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 loreizza is in Italy, so that may be a problem. Best advice is to check here before you make another purchase.
fortcon Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 ake it easy, it's not his fault. Sometimes, perfectly good people just get screwed, plain and simple. Sorry, buddy, I know the excitement of getting your first Gibson. Take that ***** back, and invest the money in a made in USA Les Paul, you will not regret it.
rockstar232007 Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 No offense to the OP' date=' but how can ANYONE mistake that 5 year old, art class flunky's excuse for a logo for a real Gibson logo?![confused'] I think a blind guy could see that thing a mile away!:-
KL Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Everybody has to start somewhere. Nobody is born with a detailed knowledge of Gibson guitars. It comes with time and experience. That's how fakers and scammers make their money. A guitar may instantly look fake to someone who's been around guitars for a while, or all their life, but to someone who is just starting to play or get into guitars it's really difficult.
loreizza Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 ok. i understand you are so cool man. but before you judge me, u have to know the history about the instrument. it's an inheritance. it's not a rage "i have the biggest ****".
