Flyer
I have a 2004 LP Standard in Cherry Sunburst with the model number LP6+HSNH1. Someone from here kindly explained what all the code letters mean with the exception of the "+". I have been told that it means a "Plus" top but does that make it a Standard Plus, a Premium Plus or is it just a normal Standard? Does it give the top an AA or AAA rating or what? Any comments from the experts would be greatly appreciated!
ChanMan
Did you find out what the "1" meant? Mine was LP6+DBNH1... I think I was told the + meant a higher quality top, but I don't recall ever seeing that related to AA or AAA.
NeoConMan
I have a 2000 Les Paul Classic Plus, same thing. Nice top on it, Cherry Burst. No correlation with AAA or anything like that at the time. Good question for Gibson Customer Service, eh?
littlekenny
You should probably e-mail or call gibson they should be able to let you know.
Flyer
Emailed Gibson and this is their reply: "Hello, In 2002, the Les Paul Standard began to come with a plus top and the model still comes Standard with one. It is a AA top and it would not be different from a normal Les Paul Standard in Heritage Cherry. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thanks again! Jesse Carr Gibson Customer Service" I guess all Standards after 2002 have an AA top! From a previous enquiry with Gibson I was told the "1" at the end of the model number denotes a factory "first" (No blemishes)
