Plus "+" top

Recommended Posts

I have a 2004 LP Standard in Cherry Sunburst with the model number LP6+HSNH1. Someone from here kindly explained what all the code letters mean with the exception of the "+". I have been told that it means a "Plus" top but does that make it a Standard Plus, a Premium Plus or is it just a normal Standard? Does it give the top an AA or AAA rating or what?

Any comments from the experts would be greatly appreciated!

Emailed Gibson and this is their reply:

"Hello,

In 2002, the Les Paul Standard began

to come with a plus top and the model still comes

Standard with one. It is a AA top and it would not be different

from a normal Les Paul Standard in Heritage Cherry.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks

again!

I guess all Standards after 2002 have an AA top! From a previous enquiry with Gibson I was told the "1" at the end of the model number denotes a factory "first" (No blemishes)
