Well I'm going to answer your stupid question...yes I have seen it, it was on an Ibanez custom shop that I had a few years ago..I hated it the look of it...

I don't think I have Tim, but I do like the look of ebony boards with no markers, only side markers.

'Traditionally' classical guitars do not have markers of any kind. Occasionally, you will see them with side markers. A single one marking the octave?, that is as close to 'traditional' as you can get. I've never seen one, but it wouldn't surprise me.
