Andre S Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Ever since I heard the middle and bridge pickup tone on this LP
Big Bill Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Don't be messing with your Lester. That thing is sweet just the way it is. :) If you start thinking of cutting holes in it, I am going to take it away from you.
Shnate McDuanus Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! [cool]
Andre S Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 Do it! It'll be exactly like that video. I know it won't but it has always been an idea that I've been toying with.

KL Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Those middle pickups can really get in the way of your playing though . . . . . I wouldn't do it myself.
Silenced Fred Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I didn't know Billy Ray Cyrus could play so Funky. He does look just like him :- Think they are related? Wait... nevermind' date=' Phil X has talent
FirstMeasure Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 He does look just like him Think they are related? Wait... nevermind' date=' Phil X has talent [/b'] :- If they were related Phil X would have been force fed to our Youth via Disney.
Dub-T-123 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 He does look just like him :- Think they are related? Wait... nevermind' date=' Phil X has talent I seem to remember a certain thread where you said you like Myley Cyrus.
Andre S Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 Those middle pickups can really get in the way of your playing though . . . . . I wouldn't do it myself. How?
dbreslauer Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 ok off topic, but this guy playing eruption on a LP Jr. made me laugh. he certainly is exuberant!
Tim Plains Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 319, we need a thread of all the ideas you've had for modifying your guitar. That poor LP...
KL Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 How? GLP1319 . . . if you ever see a used 3 pickup LP in a shop the cover on the middle pickup is often really worn because it is positioned where most people strum the strings. So your pick keeps striking the middle pup. Of course everybody has a different style of playing, but I have a feeling that this is one reason why the 3 pickup models have never been that popular.
Andre S Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 319' date=' we need a thread of all the ideas you've had for modifying your guitar. That poor LP...[/quote'] Its not that many, besides I am happy to have a Les Paul Studio just a little different from everyone else. Without bothering with the dates: Changing Plastics to a Creme set, done over one year Dunlop Straploks installation Removal of pickup covers Faux Binding Changing pots and caps to RS guitarworks stuff and changing the config to 2V, Master T Installation of the mini toggle for the fishman powerbridge and powerchip... The last one the actual installation of the powerbridge will be in the late summer.
Silenced Fred Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I seem to remember a certain thread where you said you like Myley Cyrus. I said she was hot :- ... and that was it. And that never had anything to do with Billy Ray's hick untalented self

Andre S Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 If I do add a third, I would try to install a switching system like the Fender Deluxe Strat...
