Silenced Fred Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Got to play on a Marshall Class 5, that thing rocks, but its loud as hell! People who use it as a "practice" amp are out of their mind, for bedroom play, but it kicks ***. A UK amp for 400? I dig it. Got to play on the Egnater Tweaker, and off the bat, I wasn't impressed. I played with all the switches, tried some different combos, and it is a great amp. I don't know if I will be taking it over the Night Train, but it is cool, and well worth a look being so versatile. One switch will take you from a Fender like amp, to a Vox like amp, to a Marshall like amp. One guitar I was very impressed with was the Godin 5th Avenue (I believe its called) Looks like an acoustic, has a single P90 in the neck. I would love to get one for slide, and softer stuff. Had a ton of fun playing around with getting feedback on a Fender Super Champ, using tremolo, vibratone, delay, all sorts of stuff. It was a blast. Made in Canada, and its 699. I was very impressed with it. Another thing from Godin, is the Seagull acoustics. I had one before, but the truss rod was broken. I plan on getting one of their acoustics with electronics in it. Cool looking one in a black finish, electronics, the whole shebang for 550. If you haven't tried one out, do so. I started playing around on bass a little bit. Thinking of getting into it to make myself more marketable as a player. I won't be Geddy Lee, but I can hold a line. I really liked the Acoustic 100W Mini Stack, head and cab together were 300 and would be able to suffice for practice and some smaller gigs I imagine. I played around on Schecter basses, and for the money, they were great. I don't remember the model numbers, but it was fun. Just thought I would share this, throw some stuff out that people might have opinions on, or may be interested in.
NeoConMan Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I have no strong opinions on any of the gear you mentioned. Now, if you wanna know how I feel about Guitar Center..... [-(/ Yeah, nothing like a little guitar shopping to kill a couple hours, eh? :-

Riverside Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I got to roll through Buffalo Brothers Guitars in Carlsbad, CA this morning. Golly. I think I liked what I saw there ( http://www.buffalobrosguitars.com/ ) even more than what I've seen at Wild West in Riverside ( http://wildwestguitars.com/ ) ... One has to look around - there's lots more to the world than the local big box store. That having been said, I kinda like my SCxD - and am scheming for a Tweaker even now...

It's a beast, and for the money, can't be beat. My friend wanted to go, and invited me along. What am I gonna say? NO? The Godin was sweet, so were the schecter basses. Acoustic bass amps are real nice
