G McBride Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 I just ordered on of these from MF. Got a really good price on a promo code. Anyone tried one of these?
G McBride Posted May 5, 2010 Author Posted May 5, 2010 I got my Nighthawk today on UPS. This guitar is very light weight. It has great sustain, probably not quite as strong as the Les Paul but very good. I am playing around with the tone variations and I like the pick up arrangement. I got number 46 out of 350. I'll post pictures once I learn how to do it.
G McBride Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 Ok, learned how to ad a picture. Have been playing this for a couple of days now and I am really liking the tones I can get from this. Sounds great clean and dirty. It is very light and you could shoulder it all day. Should be a sought after guitar.
guitarmandp Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 The nighthawk was one of the first Gibson's I fell in love with. I came close to owning one when I was 15. I liked the idea of a Gibson with a humbucker and a floyd rose. The salesman at Buddy Rogers told me that this guitar was supposed to give you the option of sounding like a Les Paul, Strat, and Tele in one guitar. Now they have a Les Paul w/Floyd Rose and a Variax.
FirstMeasure Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 The New nighthawk is a very different monster than the 90's Nighthawks.
G McBride Posted May 12, 2010 Author Posted May 12, 2010 I have been playing my 2009 Nighthawk for a week now and I am loving it. It is light so you can play for hours. The pick up combination gives me a lot of tone. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a great guitar.
