guitarworld Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Hi again forum, I have one last question to ask of you all. On my new LP the end bar (Stop??) seems to be elevated from the body. Is this normal, or was it just for transportation? You can actually see threads on the bolts! Any advice gratefully recieved.:)
KL Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Its probably normal. The stop bar should be high enough so that the strings are in contact with the individual saddles but not the back of the bridge. If the stop bar is too low the strings will be in contact with the back of the bridge.
Tim Plains Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 What ^ said. Just adjust it if it's too high for you.
guitarworld Posted May 3, 2010 Author Posted May 3, 2010 Hi KL and are nine, Many thanks for the replies. It looks fine, so there's something else I've learnt!! Best regards, Alan
