zico10 Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 After reading the forums and watching the You Tube video I finall plucked up the courage to fit a Vibramate and a B7 Bigsby to my 1956 Goldtop reissue It is as easy as can be ! If I can do it anyone can- only tools required is a couple of screwdrivers . I also took the opportunity of fitting a Roller Bridge which may be helping the guitar return to tune It takes longer to restring the Bigsby than to fit it! Stays in tune if used as Bigsby intended - no dive bombs! However be warned that if you use Schaller style straplocks then they will NOT fit through the tailpiece casting I have resolved the issue by fitting a washer over the tail piece casting and then fitting my straplock with a longer screw. Not very elegant but hardly noticeable when the strap fitted Oh and on my guitar, the straplock button hole ,drilled at the factory, did not line up with the Vibramate tailpiece again not an issue for me as I drilled a new one and you cannot see either hole when the tailpiece fitted Well worth fitting- am now going to order for my 335 Dot
