Californiaman Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I've been looking at the Dr. Z JAZ amp. I have my choice of a 1X12" or the 2X10" combo amp. What do you guys think. Murph: Love to hear from you man. Thunder: You too. Please chime in if you have experience with such speaker configurations. Thundergod Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 1x12 for sure! Don't know if you saw my thread about some cabs for a Dr. Z head, as both cabs had different speakers and design we tried both of them separatedly and the head+1x12 cab config was amazing with both (one was a celestion vintage 30 and the other a G12).
Californiaman Posted May 4, 2010 Author Posted May 4, 2010 No I don't recall that thread. I do know that some folks love the 2X10 combo and I thought I'd throw this up there to see what people say. I know I'll get more bottom end with the 12" speaker. Unfortunately there is no where around here for me to try either amp out. I have to travel to Los Angeles again to A/B them.
Thundergod Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 http://forums.gibson.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=32629 I think people didn't pay attention to it 'cause it didn't have the words Marshall or Slash or Buckethead in the title
ShredAstaire Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I would have responded if I had anything to add...I learned from TG...if you don't know, shaddap!
Thundergod Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Wow, only I voted? Maybe you should have put "Kurt Cobain jokes" in the title
