SGSpecialguy Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I understand the volume potentiometers are around 300k and its recommended to swap with a 500k pots, is it worth the effort? sizable difference ? Any particular brand of pots ? How about the capacitors too ? I have read that by changing out the potentiometers it will clean up the sound, but is it only a minimal change ? Thanks guys
Blackie Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Minimal change.........better to spend money on efx or an amp upgrade.

I've played guitars with both 300k and 500k pots. I really couldn't tell any tonal difference (I'm sure there is one though) between the two. Get a new pedal!
SGSpecialguy Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 hey, I appreciate the input guys !! I do use the volume knobs to control breakup,, I dont play at 10 all the time LOL but I think I will leave it as is, maybe change the knobs, previous owner notched the tophats I guess so he could feel where he was
