jimmiJAMM Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Brian May (lead guitarist for Queen) and his dad basically made his famous red guitar out of odd bits & pieces lying about. Whattya think, Blackie... impressed?
Twiz Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I love this guitar. It's truly an original, just like Queen. Brian May is one of those players that is on another level. I mean, how many other famous rock stars are also astrophysicists?
jimmiJAMM Posted May 5, 2010 Author Posted May 5, 2010 A true gentleman rockstar who let his guitar do all the talking and man... that thing SCREAMED!
S t e v e Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 i met him once at a peter green gig, i stood there shaking his hand but could not get any words out! i was totaly starstruck...
cwness Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 He created is own original tone. Great player, gentleman and rocker. CW
DanvillRob Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 LJMU's Chancellor, Dr Brian May officiated for the first time at the University's graduation ceremony on Wednesday 23 July 2008. I'd think Dr. May putting some guitar pieces together would be one of the LEAST impressive achievements in his life!
Thundergod Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Brian is one of my favourite guitar players, and his guitar is one of the guitars I like the most (I like it better than les pauls so that you know)
tbonesullivan Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I really REALLY want to pick up one of the brian May guitars they are producing now, but I keep hearing about quality issues and such. I have considered having a strat-type guitar set up with the switching scheme he uses for the three pickups, which is three on/off switches, and three phase switches, all wired in series.
HeadCase Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Brian May is my very favorite guitarist! His Red Special is awesome, great licks played on that one for sure... There are some good copies out there, GREAT ones too but they'll co$t ya...
deepblue Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 The first 5 or 6 Queen albums were amazing....I still put them on the player to this day. No one did it like Queen, and Mercurys voice in the early days was perfect for that genre of rock music.
jimmiJAMM Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 I remember when Jazz and The Game were released. Great albums! Fat Bottomed Girls is a true classic and fun to rip on in Drop D tuning.
