DeVeeWee Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Coolest (but not the best playable of all) is my Gretsch 6131 TDS
Twiz Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I guess it's a non-Gibson. I love my Epiphone EL-00. I don't own any non Gibby electrics... *Edit* PS DeVeeWee it's good to see you back!
jimmiJAMM Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 First define cool Then I'll pick one. Cool Slang great; fine; excellent; hype' date=' rad; neat; tight; dope; the balls; groovy
MojoRedFoot Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Toss up...I think these are my coolest guitars: I get stopped a lot for this one: This is cool if you are a Metallica fan: Please ignore the Gibson since it does not apply to the thread.
ChanMan Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Fender Mahogany Special Strat or Maybe the '83 Elite Strat: But some have said it is the Ibanez:
ksdaddy Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Hopf Saturn 63: http://www.angelfire.com/me4/ksdaddy/hopf.html
Twiz Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 ksdaddy, that is awesome. Is that like an external jack or something on there? Very cool.
milod Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 My two "coolest" are "coolest" because I didn't have access to anywhere close enough to go guitar shopping and there was a "ma and pa" music store where I lived that was pretty decent to work with. So... A purchased-new Ibanez mid 1970s the real thing "patent infringement" es175 clone (except for the obvious Ibanez brand stuff on it - they didn't mess with that obvious illegality) and a Guild SG copy, same store, about a year prior - it has the carved acorns and oak leaves and a marvelous neck. But note that they were as close to Gibsons as I had access to... m
ksdaddy Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 ksdaddy' date=' that is awesome. Is that like an external jack or something on there? Very cool. [cool'] It has a 4 pin output jack and I didn't want to change it. Looks something like a DIN jack. I made a short adaptor cord and soldered it onto a bracket that goes on the tailpiece.

ksdaddy Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 That thing's WAY frickin' cool! Does she have a name? Nah. Not one to name them I guess. It amazes everyone that plays it though; it plays like an old Jaguar and sounds more like an old Gretsch than an old Gretsch does. Did you click on the link? There's more pics.
FirstMeasure Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 This is my '88 Strat. It was my first real electric, making it cool. It's a FSR for Guitar Center, so it's a standard that has this Kahler Spyder (Floyd Rose Lic.) tremolo, whick makes it cool. It has Earthquake Damage from the Big Bear/Landers Quakes of 1992, lending it some Mother Nature Cool. Now it has a Trio of Blue/Silver/Red Lace Sensor Pickups, giving it some Hot Rod Mod Cool.
RichCI Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 For the "Odd" category, I'm submitting my Reverend Slingshot.
daveinspain Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Has to be my Alhambra, hand painted acoustic. Looks like it's wrapped in paper and tied up with twine but it's not...
jimmiJAMM Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 For the "Odd" category' date=' I'm submitting my Reverend Slingshot.[/quote'] Dude, the good Reverend is MOST excellent!!
NeoConMan Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 My Gibson SG 12 string. Definitely. Wait - coolest non-Gibson? Oh, well, I dunno.... My 50s Gretsch lap steel? My 60s Kustom K-200? PRS Custom 24 20th Anniversary? Eh, I think I gotta go with this one; My Rickenbacker 381-V69 in Maple Glo, with Ric-O-Sound stereo output.
