deepblue Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Im looking after my sisters two dogs while they are away. Ive said this here before, but ill refresh and promise to be brief.... They have a huge garage...around 1600 sq/feet. I have been able to max out my Orange....oh yes, I dimed her. Just me, my Gibson and me' Orange. Theres nothing like it in the world. Pure tube bliss thats solid, thick and shook my bowels. It reminded me of the reason I love electric guitars. Felt good.....thats all.
Artie Owl Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 lol, a lot of talk of cleansing and bowels, could give some honest folk the wrong idea :-
NeoConMan Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Great therapy, eh? I've done that a few times with my Marshall 800 - full stack makes a big difference too. :-
cwness Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 There's no better feeling then turning them up. I do it all the time. I live alone and take full advantage of it. Put the dogs in the garage (don't want to hurt there ears) and wail. The amps just don't sound good unless your pushing them hard. Have fun. CW
NeoConMan Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 (don't want to hurt there ears) <------- Or their glasses...
deepblue Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 Great therapy' date=' eh? I've done that a few times with my Marshall 800 - full stack makes a big difference too. I have the 50w head and the 4x12 cabinet. It was a chore getting it there but I had some help. I figure I can leave it there for a week so why not take advantage of the situation. I also was using my wireless, so I got to be at the other end of the garage....a sweet spot to be!
Andre S Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Damn....I can't even do that with my Fender Champion..... It gets pretty loud before someone (family) complains.
TommyK Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 ... Pure tube bliss thats solid' date=' thick and [b']shook my bowels[/b]....Felt good.....thats all. Guess'n you won't be needin' this:
Flight959 Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 My father in law works in a school... Im making plans to take my Vintage Modern in and crank the hell out of it in the main hall... Can't wait!! Regards
jamman Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Wish i could do that with my jvm210h & 1960ax. Not possible here, but next year, a really good chance.
manse Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 ....my band hires a rehearsal room every month - it is £50 ($75) for 10.00 am to Midnight - between 4 of us, that is not too bad. I can run my stereo rig ('59 Bassman and Marshal 6100 30th Anniversary 100w half stack) flat out all day..... Seriously, I now wear ear-plugs to stave off permenant hearing loss. Like the guys said earlier - the more you turn 'em up, the better they sound.
NeoConMan Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Sounds like a VERY cool rig! I partnered my Marshall 800 with my Fender Hot Rod DeVille (I know, not a Bassman...) and liked it alot. With a bit of reverb, the Fender was surprisingly present in the mix.
retrosurfer1959 Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 You all need to try some of the small fractional tube amps that are available now then you can drive your amp full open and not annoy everyone and deafen yourself either :P
Blackie Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 ............my fillings melted and me cat walks around sideways................thats old school wattage............
