Rock Bottom Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Okay, guys and gals....I just opened the case ... here are some shots of my newest baby, a NOS 2007 Limited Edition J45 Custom Quilted Mahogany with Adirondack Red Spruce Top: She sounds as sweet as she looks. Thanks to my dealer, E.M. Shorts in Wichita, Kansas.. www.wichitaband.com....Andrew you are the BEST!
Rock Bottom Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 YUP! Madagascar Rosewood it is!.. Unfortunately, I don't have a recording setup, so no clips will be forthcoming. Maybe, I'll get a video up on youtube in the near future. Thanks for the kind words, folks...I am thrilled, to say the least. I went from a $1000. Takamine to this! Plus it has the LR Baggs Element installed.
BigKahune Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 The quilted hog is gorgeous. Beautiful guitar. Congrats!
onewilyfool Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Were there any more of those at the shop where you bought it????? LOL.....VERY nice....have fun with that baby....
ASkrivan Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous...congrats Jimmy. That geetar at that price is a STEAL
Rock Bottom Posted May 8, 2010 Author Posted May 8, 2010 Thanks to all for your kind remarks. She is a real beauty, sweet sound...and LIGHT as a feather. Tony, did you get that J45TV yet?
fortyearspickn Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 That is one of the nicest looking guitars I've ever seen. Have fun breaking it in. Quite a step up from a $1K Takemine!
bkharmony Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Very nice! I have a very similar Adi/Quilted Hog J-45, but I think from an earlier run. Mine lacks the rosette and cool fret markers. But just like yours, mine is crazy light. And boy, does it project. Easily the loudest guitar I own. I'd be curious to know what they did to make these lighter and louder than the typical J-45. Congrats, and enjoy!
ASkrivan Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Thanks to all for your kind remarks. She is a real beauty' date=' sweet sound...and LIGHT as a feather. Tony, did you get that J45TV yet?[/quote'] Not yet, we're waiting on a firestripe pickguard from Gibson.
Rock Bottom Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 Cool, Tony. I'm sure Andrew at E.M. Shorts is taking good care of you. He is a fabulous guy to deal with. Keep us posted on her arrival!
Jack6849 Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Whoa!!!! Now that's the way to spend a great weekend! (And way beyond....) How cool. Congratulations. Jack6849
Rock Bottom Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 Thanks, Jack. I am having a hard time putting her down. This guitar just feels like magic in my hands...light, responsive, loud and tasteful all at once. I can't imagine how good she will sound 5 years down the road. Needless to say, I am one happy camper.
Jinder Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 RB, that is one edible-looking '45! God only knows how good she must sound. You are a lucky man...that quilted Mahogany looks out of this world. Stunning!
Rock Bottom Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 Thanks, Jinder. She's been taking me for a ride and I'm still dizzy from the experience!
Honky Dog Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Like said above, that is one sweet looking guitar. Congratulations.
